This is a delightful kit to welcome spring.
This postcard, which was created based on the motif of Gyeongchip (驚蟄), one of the 24 solar terms, depicts bugs, frogs, etc. that were hibernating and starting to wiggle.
It comes with a postcard depicting frogs waking up from a long sleep and earth friends still staying underground, and a mini sticker of 立春大吉 (Ipchundaegil) 建陽多慶 (Geonyangdaegyeong). 立春大吉 (Ipchundaegil) 建陽多慶 (Geonyangdaegyeong) is a phrase that contains the wish that good energy will fill the year as you start it, and it means, ‘Spring has begun, so it is very auspicious and many happy events will occur.’ This phrase is called ‘Ipchunchuk’ and it is said that it is very effective to put it on the front door at the time of the beginning of spring (立春)*.立春大吉 (Ipchundaegil) should be attached to the right side, and 建陽多慶 (Geonyangdagyeong) should be attached to the left side. The common method is to attach them in the shape of the character 八 (八) or the character 11 (eleven). However, even if these two phrases are not necessarily attached to doors or walls on the perfect time and date, they have been passed down to this day as a meaning and method to start the new year with hope and energy.
